L.A. Comedian and podcaster extraordinaire, Dave Ross at The Pinhook.
The inimitable Dave Ross is a comedian based in Los Angeles, CA. He plays Trademarq in Comedy Central’s Corporate. He tours all the time. Vans Warped Tour, Fest, SXSW, The Hollywood Improv, SF Sketchfest, The Bridgetown Comedy Festival and your basement are just a few of the places he’s done stand-up. He’s a Moth Grand Slam winner. He’s been on This is Not Happening, Drunk History, WTF with Marc Maron and so much more.
Dave’s standup is pure fun. He has been described as “loud” and “smart” and “dumb”. More than anything, though, he makes you feel welcome. He wants you to be his family for a night. Parental adivsory: he talks about cum a lot.

I know I know… this is called Comedy Durham, what’s with the show in Raleigh? Well why not? Let’s show some love for our neighbors with laughter! Featuring Bulltown faves and NC celebs Brett Williams, Tank Smith, Brandy Brown, Alex Garrettson, and your headliner of headliners Brent Blakeney. Hosted by Deb Aronin, Queen of Durham Comedy and all that.
314 S.Blount St.
April 20th Minori Hinds at the Monkey Bottom Collaborative. $7 at the door. Show at 8PM, doors open at 7PM. (Poster here)
Find it (with a little luck) at 609 Trent Drive, Durham NC
This show features Brett Williams on her adorable ukulele and hosted by (me) Deb Aronin. Minori is on her way up on the comedy fame scale. Comedians make a point of seeing her perform and she’s been praised by the likes of Todd Barry and Janeane Garofalo (she’s opened for both of them).
The Monkey Bottom Collaborative is where the Beaver Queen after party takes place every year, and it’s a little off the beaten path. I’d be lying if I said it was super easy to find, but it is worth it. There’s a sense that you need a password to get in, like a speakeasy (the password is “Fidelio”). This is sort of like a little secret show. I wouldn’t want to miss that, so you shouldn’t, either!
Do you have a new years resolution to go to more free comedy shows in breweries on Tuesday nights? I bet you do. Now’s your chance to make good on that promise with the Bulltown Comedy Series! This time I’ve asked all the comedians to do a few brand spanking new jokes to celebrate the new year (only the funny ones).
So get together a group of friends and come out on the 16th to see
- Jeremy Alder: The guy with 150 kids
- Will Purpura: The obligatory New Yorker
- Deb Aronin: The hostess with the goodness
- Grant Sheffield: The professional comedy car salesman
- Jason Zaremba: The Jew from Weezer
- and Brett Williams: The adorable dietary restricted musical pixie
You bring the love. We’ll bring the laughs.

She’s Michelle Biloon and she’s coming to Durham this month. Sunday, February 12 at 106 Main in Durham. Featuring Blair Postman and Durham’s very own Purdy Holsom. Deb Aronin (me) as host. The women’s march ain’t the only place for a vagina hat.

He completely KILLED last time, make sure to make it to this encore event! Ok, not an encore six months later, but you’ll love it.
MYQ KAPLAN announces the release of his 4th comedy album NO KIDDING out FEBRUARY 17 on ASPECIALTHING RECORDS. On his follow up to ‘Small, Dork and Handsome’, Myq unleashes some spot-on impressions, the wittiest of wordplay and thoughts on drinking, sex, family, money, drugs, Nicolas Cage, psychic predictions, kids and back to drugs again. While ‘No Kidding’ is pure Myq’s comedic style, fans may notice an evolution in that style as he ventures into more long-form comedy. As the Boston Globe notes in a recent review, “his act isn’t just a series of one-liners anymore.” Pre-orders available now and February album release shows announced.
Myq Kaplan is a comedian who already has three outstanding comedy releases including his debut album ‘Vegan Mind Meld’ which was one of iTunes’ Top 10 Comedy Albums of the Year. On TV, he has made appearances on the Tonight Show, Conan, the Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Seth Meyers, his own half-hour Comedy Central Presents special and his special “Small, Dork, and Handsome” is available on Netflix. He’s also appeared on America’s Got Talent and was a finalist on Last Comic Standing. Myq hosts the podcast “Hang Out With Me” where he hangs out and talks with humans in ways that are meaningful, fun, both, or neither.

Dave Stone is coming for his super festive Holly Jolly Tour. Dave’s is maybe the hardest most dedicated comic around. Early in his career he moved to LA and lived in a van in order to devote all his time to comedy. THAT’S commitment. It doesn’t hurt that he’s funny as heck. His first TV appearance was on Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He now tours with Craig Ferguson regularly and co-hosts Boogie Monster, the paranormal podcasts with Kyle Kinane.
His stories are relatable but still strange. He talks about everything from being a southern gospel disc jockey to living in a van. As one of the ORIGINAL Beards of Comedy he never disappoints an audience. Don’t miss out!
Featuring the sit down comedian himself, Leo Hodson. Also featuring Josh Rosenstein and Deb Aronin and a surprise guest!

Tyler Wood and Nick Alexander are on a mission to present the best guys with beards and glasses extravaganza known to man! Tyler Wood has previously headlined at the Bulltown Comedy Series. He killed it! Their slightly awkward offbeat comedy is perfect for a fun Sunday comedy show at one of the top local bars in the area!
No cover, but their will be a tip bucket!
