New shows, old shows, TV Shows

Hey kids,

Lots of news this month! Take a deep breath and get ready to read …

New Facebook Page

First off, I finally have a Facebook page. Deb Aronin: Funny Person. Check it out.

4/17 Bulltown Comedy Series

On April 17th There’s the Bulltown Comedy Series. See the page on this site for time and location. Headliner this month is the incredible Mark Brady.

4/20 Minori Hinds + Brett Williams + Deb Aronin

April 20th there’s Minori Hinds at the Monkey Bottom Collaborative.  $7 at the door. Show at 8PM, doors open at 7PM. (Poster here)

Find it (with a little luck) at 609 Trent Drive, Durham NC

This show features Brett Williams on her adorable ukulele and hosted by (me) Deb Aronin.  Minori is on her way up on the comedy fame scale.  Comedians make a point of seeing her perform and she’s been praised by the likes of Todd Barry and Janeane Garofalo (she’s opened for both of them).

The Monkey Bottom Collaborative is where the Beaver Queen after party takes place every year, and it’s a little off the beaten path. I’d be lying if I said it was super easy to find, but it is worth it.  There’s a sense that you need a password to get in, like a speakeasy (the password is “Fidelio”).  This is sort of like a little secret show.  I wouldn’t want to miss that, so you shouldn’t, either!

4/20 Open Mic

Sam’s Quik Shop is Saturday as always. Will be guest hosted this week. I’ll miss you guys!

Deb is on TV!

And finally, the first episode of “Durham Works” is out! This is a show I’m hosting for the City of Durham. Sort of like Dirty Jobs on Discovery Channel but for Durham. Check it out!

Peace,

Deb

The Sunday Show: Caleb Synan

Caleb Synan returns to Durham! It’s been a year since Caleb has performed in the Bull City, and now he’s back on tour and stopping in again at 106 Main.
Caleb Synan’s breakout performance on CONAN was praised as “One of the Top 5 Late Night Debut’s of 2015” by TheLaughButton.com. Though his parents remain skeptical of his profession, he is a comedic force to be reckoned with – headlining clubs across the country and at home in LA! He continues to stay fake humble about his talents, even though his deceptively smart blend of Southern charm and razor sharp wit has earned him appearances on Last Comic Standing, Montreal’s Just for Laughs Festival, and the title of “Wittiest” in Franklin County High School’s 2009 Yearbook. He did not write this bio himself, either. He swears.
But he did write and star in his own web-series for Comedy Central entitled “Deadliest Chef.” And in 2016 he performed stand up on Hulu’s Coming to the Stage, Fuse TV’s Uproarious, and on a tour for the US troops in South Korea and Japan! And he’ll have a margarita with you if you play your cards right!

Hosted by Deb Aronin, headlined by comedians from all over the country, The Sunday Show at 106 Main is the laid back professional comedy show you’ve been waiting for.

106 Main is a Durham favorite. Part cocktail bar, part dive bar, part indescribable, this place is ideal for grabbing a drink after work and airing your grievances to a compassionate bartender.

Tickets are $10
